Terry Crews says 'Expendables' producer threatened 'trouble'

WASHINGTON — Terry Crews says a film producer said he could only return to the "Expendables" franchise if he dropped his sexual assault lawsuit against a Hollywood agent. The actor said it was an example of how "abusers protect abusers."
Crews made the allegation Tuesday at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights, which establishes rights for survivors of sexual assault.
Crews, who last year accused William Morris Endeavor talent agent Adam Venit of groping him at a party, was asked if there had been any retaliation for making the sexual assault allegation.

Crews has alleged a film producer offered him a role in “Expendables 4” if he dropped his sexual assault lawsuit against a Hollywood agent. He said "Expendables" producer Avi Lerner asked that the actor drop his case in order to appear in the fourth installment of the action film and warned of "troubles" if it wasn't dropped. Crews has been in each of the previous films.
"Abusers protect abusers — and this is one thing I had to decide, whether I was going to draw the line on. Am I going to be a part of this or am I gonna take a stand, and there are projects I had to turn down," he said.
An email seeking comment from Lerner's Millennium Films was not immediately returned Tuesday afternoon.
Millennium Films is being sued for sexual harassment and gender discrimination by a former employee.
The Los Angeles County district attorney's office decided in March not to file charges against Venit, determining the allegations were not a felony. Crews has also filed a lawsuit against Venit.

Sifu Sam Recognizes Community Hack Day as a Sign of Change #PGCODE

Sifu Sam Recognizes Community Hack Day as a Sign of Change #PGCODE

This one is touching me on a personal note.  As a volunteer for the Hack A Thon it was my job to take pictures and post to social media.  Well I did not make it.  But I am there in spirit.  This event is one sign of change that we all need in these times.  With our country facing some of very difficult issues daily it is nice to see an organization that is focused on the FUTURE.

I spent the evening with my daughter Samiya Li. It was a long day of pre scheduled training.  Also the long haul from Bryan's Road with my daughter alone was enough to help me make the decision to stay home.  Mom is at work. lol   But #PGCODE was on our minds the whole time.  I had to give a quick shout out in my live video. Yeah I know what your saying the martial arts instructor was defeated by a baby.  Yes its true. lol  She wins every time.

But Hey....

There is still time to get there unless you are reading this after 7pm today lol.....Click this link to get Directions to the Hack A Thon.

As a STEM teacher myself I am elated to see this event take place.  Its time that we as a people decide to make technology the focus. We the People meaning the American people that need it the most.  Many children go through our education systems without the experiences they need to compete in the real world.  Even I had a hard time adjusting from the transition from schooling to the day to day or real life.  Hack A Thons such at this will help close the GAP!

Enjoy some of the trending post following #PGCODE

Go PGCODE GO! I look forward to next year to see another great event. You Rock! My services will always be offered Free to you.  Make the World a better place!

Text2Sam Presents - Are you lonely working from home? Coworking an Answer for Lonliness

Are you lonely working from home?

If you are like me then working from home seemed fun and rewarding. Ya know making your own hours and such.  But after a few months with no human interaction anyone will begin to lose societal traits of regularity.  We all need to feel normal and working alone just is not.  Face it working from home was a dream. Many have not accepted the fact that we are now doing just so at this very moment.  How did Mr. Spacely become real? Below is a blog with just the solution to the ho hum of home work. I really enjoyed it.  Thus the piggy back share.....

Read on....

Coworking Is Not About Workspace — It’s About Feeling Less Lonely

December 28, 2017
Working remotely has many benefits: flexible hours, no commute, and autonomy and control over how you work, to name just a few.
But as any remote worker will tell you, there are also considerable challenges. According to a variety of studies, isolation and loneliness are among the biggest complaints. Working remotely means missing out on the human interaction and social aspects that being in an office provides.
According to Vivek Murthy, the former Surgeon General of the United States, increasing numbers of remote and independent “gig economy” workers is one of the key reasons for the growing “loneliness epidemic”. Murthy also points out that loneliness is much more than just a social problem. It’s also a health problem, “associated with a reduction in lifespan similar to that caused by smoking 15 cigarettes a day and even greater than that associated with obesity.”
Our research on coworking spaces show that these shared, member-based workspaces where remote corporate workers, startup employees, freelancers, and others “work alone together” can substantially reduce the isolation and loneliness associated with remote work. Some of the key findings from our surveys of coworking space members show that:
  • 87% of respondents report that they meet other members for social reasons, with 54% saying they socialize with other members after work and/or on weekends
  • 79% said coworking has expanded their social networks
  • 83% report that they are less lonely since joining a coworking space
  • 89% report that they are happier since joining a coworking space
Our initial research objectives for these studies were not focused on the social side of coworking. In fact, the studies were developed to explore the role that work-related networking plays in coworking communities. The study results show that professional ties are strongly enhanced by membership in a coworking space:
  • 82% of respondents reported that coworking has expanded their professional networks
  • 80% reported that they turn to other coworking members for help or guidance
  • 64% said their coworking networking was an important source of work and business referrals
The research also showed a variety of other work-related benefits associated with coworking membership. Most members (84%) reported that working in a coworking space improved their work engagement and motivation. Most also reported being able to concentrate better due to fewer distractions compared to working from home or in coffee shops.
But despite focusing on the work aspects of coworking, our research found that it was the social ties of coworking that proved most valuable to members. When asked to list three words that best describe coworking, three of the top five words mentioned by coworking members — community, fun, and social — relate to social aspects.  Finish Reading HERE.

FCC Tweets Make a Difference CBS Highlights Mignon Clyburn - NET NEUTRALITY Who can save us?

Author/Presenter:
Sam Williams II
Internet Servant / IT Consultant

Hmmm..... Very interesting Tweets make such a difference nowadays.  I remember how a simple tweet changed the course of my career.  I will get to that at the end.  But lets travel down the dark road of the internet NET Neutrality debate.  Will it Kill Dreams and Hopes of small start ups? What is the impact it will make on the mom and pops?  Is it a good thing or not? What is this all about?  I'm sure there are many questions running through your head as well.  Does this mean we will not have an internet? Or what does it mean?  Lets look at what CBS has on the issue.

Why 2 FCC commissioners voted against killing net neutrality

The Federal Communication Commission's vote on the future of the internet came down, as with so much else in American public life these days, to politics. The agency's two Republican commissioners, joined by FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, voted to eliminate the "net neutrality" rules, while the panel's two Democrats opposed their repeal.
One of those dissenting voices, Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, had before Thursday's vote starkly framed net neutrality as "the ability of consumers and businesses to reach the online applications and services of their choosing without interference from their broadband provider."
The problem, in Clyburn's view, is that broadband giants such as AT&T (T), Comcast (CMCSA) and Verizon (VZ) can't be trusted to act as impartial gatekeepers to the online world. In support of her position, has cited examples of internet service providers acting in ways she considers unfair in their treatment of content and that are harmful to consumers.

Just ahead of today's vote, Clyburn echoed those concerns. "What saddens me the most today is that the agency that is supposed to protect you is actually abandoning you," she said.
"[B]roadband providers did not even wait for the ink to dry on this order before making their moves," Clyburn said in her dissenting opinion. "One broadband provider, who had in the past promised to not engage in paid prioritization, has now quietly dropped that promise from its list of commitments on its website. What's next? Blocking or throttling?"
"After today's vote, exactly who is the cop of the beat that can or will stop them?" she added.
Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel, the FCC's other Democratic appointee, said in her dissent that the public comment process for the FCC's plan to nix net neutrality was seriously flawed.
There were no public hearings before the FCC's Thursday vote, a fact that Pai dismissed as incidental given citizens' ability to submit comments for the record electronically or in other ways. A record 24 million comments were submitted to the commission -- but at least 2 million of them are allegedly fraudulent, using stolen identities. Nineteen state prosecutors asked the commission to delay its vote until an investigation could take place, which it did not do.
"I think our record has been corrupted and our process for public participation lacks integrity," Rosenworcel said. "Identity theft is a crime under state and federal law -- and while it is taking place this agency has turned a blind eye to its victims and callously told our fellow law enforcement officials it will not help. This is not acceptable. It is a stain on the FCC and this proceeding. This issue is not going away. It needs to be addressed."
To be sure, there will still be a regulator on the beat: Part of the re-classification of internet services would return oversight of internet providers to the Federal Trade Commission, which has a mandate to go after harmful or unfair business practices. But the FTC is ill-equipped to handle consumer complaints about the internet, Clyburn and Rosenworcel said, because it can only address consumer harm after it has occurred.
"By the time the FTC gets around to addressing them in court proceedings or enforcement actions, it's fair to assume that the startups and small entities wrestling with discriminatory treatment could be long gone," Rosenworcel said.

My Heroine M Clyburn America needs her.
Well with all this ruckus its hard to hear or listen.  On a personal note there was a moment I mentioned earlier in my career where a tweet made the difference.

Here is it below:
After a tweet like this I began to experience success from a digital pat on the back.
I must thank the OCBO Director Tom Reed and Christian Fuscanari of the FCC for taking such great footage.
This is reminder to us all that with the right balance of knowledge we can meet the people and go to the places needed to find success. I actually met this awesome leader Mignon Clyburn a few years ago. See pictured above.  She is and inspiring person. Just a few moments with her will change your life. This is America, and my organization is one that cares about the NET Neutrality issues we face.  Will this mean the end of the internet gurus all over?  I hope not because I was just starting to have fun.  Let's keep the NET OPEN.

Double Cancer. Is there such a Thing? The Angie White Story touches the world. ICOD Interview.
Sam Williams II

What do you do when faced with Cancer?  Who knows until it happens.  But two different cancers has attacked our hero of  the day.  I have the pleasure of informing the world of one amazing woman name Angie White.   As one of her biggest fans its my honor to write to the world to tell everyone of her amazing recovery on our blog.

Angie is one of my inspirations to my career as well and to see how far she has come is awesome to see.

Wow talk about falling in love with someones spirit. That I did.  A few years ago after meeting her she told me of her condition.  To be honest it was one call that I wish I had not of taken.  I felt so bad that something like this would happen to such a good person.  But I do know of the healing power of the mind.  So I immediately got myself together as I had to hold back tears and told her to cheer up.  Even though I was sad I faked it talking to her every time. Ha.  However, this young lady seemed to be made of steel.  Ultimately, she gives credit to her God and Savior Jesus Christ.
