Text4Help Press Release: 2 missing girls found stabbed to death in NC; father arrested on murder charges ABC NEWS

A North Carolina man was arrested on murder charges after his two young daughters, who had been reported missing and endangered, were found stabbed to death, authorities said.

Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said Genesis and Serenity Freeman - who were just 2-years-old and 4-days-old - were stabbed multiple times. Their bodies were found in a car parked in a wooded area of Raeford.

"It's kind of hard to find the words to describe what this feels like," said Peterkin. "I know people read it, I know people see the story and hear about it, but to be out here on the scene and actually see this stuff, to see these children lifeless and brutally stabbed. I don't care how many years you've been in it. How many times you've been in it or seen things, this was not a good experience. Everybody's taking this real hard. Our heart goes out to the family, to the mother."

Fayetteville police said the children were at the center of a domestic-related incident between Freeman, 30, and his wife, who was at the hospital at the time. Freeman allegedly left with the children.

"From what our investigation's telling us they had a dispute, where (Freeman) allegedly made accusations about the babies not being his, a child not being his or maybe her involvement with someone, and when he took the kids we understand he left in a rage," Peterkin told ABC7 sister station, WTVD-TV.

Tillman Freeman (Fayetteville Police Department)

The children's aunt, Marvina Smith, told the station Saturday afternoon that the children's mother attempted suicide when she discovered her kids had been murdered. She is currently recovering in the hospital.

"I want him to suffer," Smith said. "The way them kids suffered. I want him to suffer."

The SBI is investigating. Freeman has a court appearance on Monday.

Mentally Move From Losing to Winning

No one escapes the feeling of fighting an uphill battle. Some take it worse than others as if they are all alone in the world. But we know that is not true and that most people have ‘been there.’
My Story
By the end of a recent conversation, I heard, ‘You made my day!’
The sentiment touched me as I recalled the sequence of events. This afternoon, I found an email indicating that several before it were sent to me but went unanswered. The last message provided an apology if I was offended by any of her actions, and to please let her know what she did wrong.
The fact of the matter is, somehow those previous messages were never received. Seeing the urgency in the new email, I picked up the phone to call. After hearing I made her day, it reconfirmed the need for calling those who come to mind more frequently.
Result
The conversation picked up my friend's mood substantially. The conversation today reminded me to make more of these calls on a daily basis.
Your Story
Should you have, something bothering you currently, make a list of the people you may call. The list should include personal friends, peers who do not judge you and those who are more advanced in their careers that could provide sound advice.
Likewise, on the day’s everything seems to be going well, make it your turn to reach out and call someone who comes to mind. When the intent is genuine, and you want to update one another, the conversation is unlike most others. The dialogue turns into a heartwarming one (even with prospective clients) because deep down, we are all human beings. It’s good to hear from people who care, and it’s special when someone demonstrates the interest and caring touch.
Think about:
  • The people who have come to mind
  • Curiosity you have about projects previously mentioned.
  • The new position someone took on recently.
There is no doubt the other people will be thrilled to hear from you. The conversation may simply end on a high note, or just as mine did, new ideas of introductions or projects will appear. In any case, you will have renewed the friendship or built up a relationship with a client-to-be. There is nowhere but up as conversation develops and you find yourselves on a path together as friends. Building those friendly alliances lead to the Smooth Sale!
